Target Audience: Middle and High School Science Teachers
Location: US Math & Science F279
Times: Session A 9:20-10:10 / Session B 10:20-11:10
(Please note: Each session has a different focus).
(Audience limit: 20)

Session A 9:20-10:10

Molecular Workbench: Simulations for High School Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Earth Science (9:20 - 10:10 am)
This session will focus on the use of a powerful modeling tool called Molecular Workbench, available as a free download from the Concordia Group. The tool can model individual molecules, show molecular shapes, the kinetic molecular model, and much more. Once I get you started, you will have the opportunity to investigate the software on your own. http://mw.concord.org/modeler/

Session B 10:20-11:10

PhET Simulations for High School Science
This session will introduce participants to more than 40 free online demonstrations and simulated experiments for Biology, Chemistry and Physics from PhET at the University of Colorado, Boulder. http://phet.colorado.edu/index.php

Simulations for High School Chemistry
This session will introduce participants to a package of 10 different topics (from Electrochemistry to Kinetics) with simulated experiments and demonstrations including chemistry experiment simulations and conceptual computer animations from the Chemical Education Research Group. http://www.chem.iastate.edu/group/Greenbowe/sections/projectfolder/simDownload/index4.html#top
